Its been a busy time for us, I havent updated this for weeks!
Molly is now 5 Months old, 5 months and a day to be exact. I posted all the pictures to date on the Splendiforous Picture Page, you can see how her shape is changing as she grows. It’ll be good to look back at that in years to come when she is fully grown.
We’ve started to notice a clunking coming from her hips, which isnt good. It could be dysplasia which is common in larger dogs and well known in labradors. Mr Bear popped into the vets on his way to work yesterday to book her in for Monday. We’ve noticed it before but put it down to her fast growth and bits not growing as fast as other bits. He got to have a quick word with one of the vets while he was there (they are a really good vets!) and he pretty much confirmed what we’d been thinking. It isn’t worth them doing an X-Ray at the moment as she is growing quickly. He said it could easily just be the way she is growing and to take it easy for a month or two, don’t let her run too much and not to make walks too long.
It isnt bothering her, I havent seen her even notice it yet, but its something we have to keep an eye on, or an ear on, to make sure it doesn’t get any worse. It may well go away by itself as her bones take shape, One of the people at the vets also has a young dog who had a similar thing and theirs went away with no intervention so we’ll see. Fingers well and truly crossed!
Hope you enjoy the pictures, we did
